Pet food and health brand Pooch & Mutt has acquired a new laboratory at the AberInnovation hub in North Wales.
Pooch & Mutt acquired microbiome research company BIOME9 earlier this year, enabling it to offer pet owners an at-home Gut Health Test to help identify current or potential future health issues. The new facility, located alongside the University of Aberystwyth and Aberystwyth Vet School, will bring all BIOME9 laboratory operations in-house ensuring greater accuracy, faster turnaround times, and expanded research capacity for the future, including plans to extend microbiome testing to new sample types and animal species. The investment includes the recruitment of two new bio-scientists.
