The Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers Ltd, which incorporates trade associations PetQuip and Gardenex, has ceased trading with immediate effect.
The Federation team has provided export advice and services to British businesses for many years but has in recent times struggled to maintain the organisation on a viable financial basis, despite new initiatives such as a Patron membership tier.
A statement from the organisation said: “Post-pandemic, it became increasingly clear that it was an uphill struggle to get the Federation on a firm financial footing, with the perfect storm of Brexit, the pandemic and President Trump’s market disruptions (making) that task extremely difficult.”
Exhibition bookings made through PetQuip for the Interzoo 2026 trade show are being handled directly by the Interzoo show organiser. Going forward, Prairie Limited will be working with Interzoo to offer the UK pet sector overseas exhibition services and the company will also be taking over the operation and delivery of the annual PetQuip Awards, which will be renamed The Pet Excellence Awards.
According to the statement, Gardenex members will be offered the opportunity to transfer the remaining term of their membership the Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association (GIMA). GIMA will also be offering a new export service for members.
