Peregrine Livefoods has thanked its customers for all they have done and continue to do in these challenging times.

“It’s been amazing to see how you have all adapted in the face of adversity, how we have all come together to be supportive and continue to provide food, care and necessity to the nation’s animals,” the specialist wholesaler says in a letter to customers.

The Essex-based company also says it has extended its support for the struggling nation’s zoos.

“At times of great uncertainty, we have been amazed at the ongoing dedication from all the zoos up and down the country,” Peregrine says. “These last few weeks have indeed been challenging but it’s comforting to see the zoo community continuing to provide high levels of care in the face of adversity.

FREE LIVEFOOD

“We were delighted to hear that the Government has announced plans for Zoo Support Funding.  While we await final details for this new scheme, we would like to extend our offer of free livefood up to the value of £250 per week until the financial support package is fully announced and operational.

“So far, we have helped over 80 independent zoos of all shapes and sizes across the UK, providing free food over the last four weeks up to the value of £80,000 and we will continue to do more until the government support is in place.

“We’re all in this together and our continued support is the very least we can do.”
