Firm gives ‘life-changing’ Christmas present

Dog and cat food brand HiLife has donated more than 45,000 meals to feed homeless pets this Christmas.

The charities were nominated by the recent competition winners from HiLife’s social media giveaways.

HiLife was proud to provide three deserving charities, including The Cat Welfare Group and Flori’s Friends Rescue, each with 10,000 meals to help spread the Christmas cheer and feed hungry mouths this holiday season.

Pet charities have had a particularly tough year after normal income streams were cut due to the pandemic. Rescue centres and charities across the country have also reported a rise in the number of animals being brought into their care, putting increased pressure on funding, the firm said.

The Cat Welfare Group is a charity run entirely by volunteers, rescuing stray or abandoned cats and rehoming them once they’ve undergone medical checks and treatment.

Lorri Seymour, CEO of The Cat Welfare Group, said: “Wow – this truly is life-changing for us and we can’t thank HiLife enough. We are absolutely blown away! With such an incredible donation, we will be able to redirect funds to veterinary care and, in turn, be able help more cats.”

Flori’s Friends Rescue is dedicated to helping and rehoming abused and unwanted animals. They specialise in sick and injured animals and provide much needed veterinary care and rehabilitation.

Natalia George, founder of Flori’s Friends Rescue, says: “Flori’s Friends Rescue brings hope to those that many have turned their back on. To have a solid supply of food means each belly is filled with nutritious food and they are one step closer to their happy ever after.”

HiLife has donated a wide range of products to these charities, including kitten and adult food from its popular HiLife it’s only natural range, which is made using natural ingredients with lots of healthy protein options. The range is grain free, GMO free and has no additives, preservatives or colours.

Commenting on the donation, Sarah Alexander, marketing director at HiLife, said: “We’re a team of pet lovers and were only too pleased to help some truly deserving homeless cats and dogs.

“This year has been particularly tough for charities, so we were glad to hear how life-changing the donations are for them.”
