The Tick Twister range of products is now available to the trade through Donal Cooke Ltd, following a new distribution agreement signed last year.
The tick season usually starts in late February as the temperature rises, although in recent years the season has been extending further due to climate change. Ticks become active when the temperature gets above 6-10°C – and they are particularly hungry at this time, usually by March. Infected Ticks can transmit a range of diseases through their bites if they are not removed effectively, most commonly Lyme Disease.
Twisting the Tick out of the skin with the Tick Twister tool is the safest and most effective way to remove the whole tick, says the supplier, as simply pulling the parasite out can leave the tick’s rostrum in the skin, increasing the likelihood of infection.
H3D showcased the Tick Twister product range at PATS Telford in September 2023 with Donald Cooke, and the new team are excited by the prospect of getting the range back in retail stores.
