Interzoo says it’s business as usual

In view of the coronavirus situation, PetQuip has written to the British contingent due to head out to Germany in May to exhibit at Interzoo.

The specialist export trade body has updated UK exihibitors with a statement issued by Interzoo as follows:

“In the last few days we have received many inquiries whether Interzoo will be cancelled or postponed due to the possible effects of the coronavirus (Covid-19). At the moment we are planning Interzoo as usual!

“However, we are taking the changed conditions resulting from the appearance of the corona virus seriously and will use the next three weeks to find the best possible solution in the interest of the industry in close cooperation between the Exhibition Advisory Board, the Interzoo organiser WZF and NürnbergMesse, the company assigned to organise and produce the event, after careful consideration and evaluation of the current situation. We are also in permanent contact with the responsible health authorities. Only they have the necessary information and expertise to draw the right conclusions. The protection of the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and employees is of course our highest priority.

“We will share the results of this evaluation with you by the end of March at the latest and ask for your patience and trust until then.”

MONITORING THE SITUATION

Kent-based PetQuip wrote to UK exhibitors: “We will stay in regular contact with the show organisers of Interzoo and will of course keep you informed with any updates regarding the event. Please see below a link to the Interzoo website for regular updates https://www.interzoo.com/en/exhibition-info/current-information

“We will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation and will be providing our members and show exhibitors with more updates as and when we hear from the organisers.

“We also wanted to make you aware that it is now within 90 days of the exhibition, therefore, should exhibitors cancel on their own accord, they will be liable for the full cost of the organiser’s space, stand build package and the support package fee…

“However, should the organisers make the decision at the end of March to cancel the show, their terms and conditions state you will be refunded for your space (please note that an administration fee may be charged).

“Should Interzoo decide to postpone the show to new dates, exhibitors would have two weeks to confirm their attendance: after these two weeks exhibitors will be liable for 100% of stand costs on the new show dates.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and should the situation change, we will be in touch with you immediately. We have already made contingency plans should there be either postponement or cancellation prove necessary. This would support all UK exhibitors within the PetQuip group by providing new and additional promotion to put your brand and your products in front of key pet product buyers, distributors and the relevant trade press until the show takes place.”
