Pet food range goes instore only

A limited-ingredient feed range for dogs and cats is being launched in September exclusively for bricks-and-mortar stores.

The Taste of the Wild: Prey range is based on the animals’ natural diet, with limited ingredients specifically developed by vets and nutritionists.

Each product in the range contains up to four key ingredients, which is fewer than most limited-ingredient pet foods on the market.

In line with the new launch, Taste of the Wild has created the Prey promise, which says: “Every ingredient in PREY is included for a reason. We promise to be transparent and clear about what goes into our products and your pet’s bowl.”

The four limited key ingredients are animal protein, lentils, tomato pomace (canine formulas only) and sunflower oil.

FAMILY-OWNED

The family-owned brand also ensures its food formulas contain probiotics to help support healthy immune and digestive systems.

Available in three canine formulas and two feline formulas, the new pet food range has been created to offer consumers an affordable limited ingredient pet food at their local store.

As an in-store exclusive range, customers will never be able to find the Prey range anywhere online.

The range is being distributed exclusively by Kennelpak in the UK and Ireland.

Darren Porter, national sales manager, said: “We want to offer consumers the opportunity to pop over to their local independent store, discuss their pets’ needs and be able to choose the ideal, affordable limited-ingredient pet food.

“That’s why the new Taste of the Wild: Prey range is perfect for an in-store exclusive launch. The Prey range has performed incredibly well in America since launch, so we are very excited to be able to offer Prey to pet owners and independent retailers in the UK.”
