New Bound brand offers independent retailers a supplement alternative

Prefera Pet Food UK has launched a new pet nutrition brand under the name of Bound.

The first product under the new banner is a range of liquid supplements for dogs and cats delivered in a pump format.

The portfolio covers key dog and cat needs including daily probiotic, joint mobility, skin and coat, digestion, calming, immunity and specialist cat issues like hairball support. Made using natural active ingredients, including plant-derived compounds and fish oils, the range has been developed to offer retailers an alternative to the tablets, powders and soft chews currently dominating the supplement category.

The new range is exclusively available to independent retailers through Pedigree Wholesale from August, and will also be stocked by  Just for Pets stores.

A range of high-meat, grain-free ambient wet food range for dogs and cats will also follow under the Bound range later in the year.

Damien Clarkson, managing director of Prefera Pet Food UK and chief executive of Bound, said: “Bound has been created to support dog and cat owners every step of the way, from everyday feeding to targeted functional support.

“We believe supplementation is ready for disruption. Tablets can be difficult to administer, powders can be messy and soft chews often come with unnecessary fillers. Our liquid pump format makes daily supplementation simple, convenient and easy to add to the food pets already love.

“We also believe these products present a major opportunity for independent pet retailers. Pet owners are actively looking for products that support longevity, mobility, digestion, calming and overall wellbeing, but they need trusted advice and easy-to-understand formats. Independent pet shops are perfectly placed to lead that conversation.”
