The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) is to host a webinar next week to introduce details of a new export solution for UK pet businesses wishing to sell their products to customers into the EU.
Since Brexit, UK pet companies have reported that exporting to the EU has become extremely time-consuming and difficult. A survey undertaken by PIF in 2021 revealed that the number of pallets being exported to Europe by UK pet companies has dropped by as much as 66% for products containing animal protein. Companies wanting to send just groupage rather than full truck loads have been particularly affected by the post-Brexit changes.
The PIF has partnered with DHL and Associated Veterinary Services to develop a new scheme which is designed to help companies overcome the challenges surrounding export to the EU, and the webinar will reveal details of this scheme.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday 19 January 2022 at 12pm (GMT) and will cover: options currently open to UK companies looking to export, including the new PIF export solution; veterinary certification; paperwork; logistics and groupage; importer of record and fiscal/VAT issues.
All UK manufacturers and suppliers, whether currently exporting, new to exporting or looking to get back into exporting, are invited to attend. The webinar is free to join and is expected to last one hour.
