Jollyes is to open a new store in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, on Saturday October 18.
The store, located at Markham Retail Park, Markham Road, Chesterfield, will open in a unit vacated by homewares retailer Jysk earlier this year.
The official opening will be carried out by eight-year-old Springer spaniel cross Bo, who spent four years as a specialist search dog for the police, as part of the retailer’s support for charity partner National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NFRSA).
Prior to the official opening at midday, customers will be entertained by ‘Young Elvis’ Evan King, a cast member for the touring show ‘A Vision Of Elvis’, which will be performed locally the same evening. To mark the occasion, Jollyes will run a social media competition for customers to bring their best-dressed Elvis pet to the store opening, with the winner receiving a £50 Jollyes voucher.
The Chesterfield store has recruited eight new colleagues, led by store manager Alan Burgar, and will be offering the retailer’s new Zoomies service in partnership with Uber Eats, allowing customers within a five-mile radius of the store to have pet food, frozen raw food and toys and accessories delivered within 30 minutes via the Uber Eats app.
Burgar said: “We can’t wait to open our doors to the people and pets of Chesterfield.
“We are already working hard to get the store ready and are looking forward to giving pet parents in Chesterfield a new alternative for their pets at home.”
