The Lyn Valley Dog House, based in the Devon village of Lynton, has been named Retailer of the Year at the North Devon Business Awards.
The business, run by Jacquie Dove, stays open all year-round in a tourist-oriented location and has carved out a successful niche with visitors and local dog owners with a number of entrepreneurial ideas, including the supply of welcome treat boxes to local dog-friendly hotels and guest houses. The store, which featured in the June edition of PBW News, also supports other Devon businesses by stocking a range of accessories made in the local area.
Jacquie said: “I am incredibly honoured to have been named Retailer of the Year by Business Action, North Devon. This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of my small and wonderful team, and the amazing small businesses I’m lucky to work alongside.
“I’m especially proud that this award helps shine a light on Lynton and Lynmouth and the brilliant independent shops that make our community so special.”
