The Animal People expands into US market

Specialist recruitment business The Animal People Recruitment Company has officially expanded into the United States market following several years of international growth.

Founded by Chris Whatling and Sarah Grace, the company focuses exclusively on the pet, animal health and veterinary sectors. The move into the US market follows a period of organic relationship-building across the global pet industry, and the company is now actively recruiting for a UK-based recruitment partner to help lead and develop its US division, with the role focused on supporting American pet industry businesses whilst working across US time zones.

According to Whatling, the expansion has not come through aggressive sales activity, but through increasing demand from US businesses and candidates already engaging with the company’s work and reputation.

“We’ve spent the last few years building genuine relationships within the global pet industry and the US market has grown very naturally from that,” said Whatling.

“What’s been incredibly exciting for us is that the demand has largely come organically through conversations, networking, events and the reputation we’ve built around how we approach recruitment.

“Businesses are increasingly looking for recruitment partners who genuinely understand employer brand, candidate experience and the long-term impact hiring processes have on reputation. That’s where we feel we’ve built a real point of difference.”
