Final preparations are being made for what will be the biggest Pet & Aquatics Trade Show (PATS) exhibition so far in the event’s 16-year history.
The trade show takes place over three days at its new home – Hall 1, NEC Birmingham – starting on Sunday September 28 and running through to Tuesday September 30. Visitors can expect to find more new products than ever from a record number of over 430 exhibitors, says the organisers.
Event director Gordon Thomas said: “There has been a tremendous amount of work going on behind the scenes to make sure that PATS delivers the widest range of exhibitors, new products and professional grooming demonstrations.
“Visitor numbers have been growing rapidly over the years and we’re confident the trend will continue this year. There is so much to see and do than ever before, and everyone can rest assured they will be given a warm and friendly reception. We can’t wait to greet everyone.”
The New Product Showcase, sponsored by PBW News, is expected to display a record number of innovative new products, and a panel of independent retailers will decide the winners of the New Product Awards from the entries.
Other show features include The Grooming Workshop, in association with For All DogKind, with demonstrations to highlight the knowledge and expertise required to complete traditional grooming techniques successfully as well as displaying new modern and creative ideas, and The Aquatics Zone, a dedicated area for aquatics, watergardening and reptile exhibitors. In addition, The New Starter Zone will support new businesses and start-ups.
Regular PATS exhibitor Canagan Group will be showcasing its premium pet food brands, including Canagan, Symply, and Yora.
Joint managing director Charlie Williams said: “Our brands are proudly available only for the independent pet trade, and PATS is the perfect opportunity to connect with retailers who share our passion for quality and innovation. We can’t wait to see our customers old and new.”
The move to the NEC has created an opportunity for new exhibitors to take part, and Pet Impact’s founder Dr Gavin Gan admits to being thrilled at the opportunity to exhibit at PATS for the first time.
He said: “It’s an incredible opportunity to connect with retailers, share our evidence-based approach to pet sustainability, and showcase world-first products that genuinely reduce plastic waste. We’re excited to spark conversations and inspire real change with the help of industry partners.”
