Swedish-based natural pet food supplier Voff Premium Pet Food has acquired Energique, a leading Dutch manufacturer of natural raw dog and cat food.
Through the acquisition, Voff broadens its portfolio of natural premium pet food brands and enters the Dutch market for the first time, while further strengthening its position in the central European market.
Energique was founded in 1988 and manufactures natural raw pet food at its own production facilities in the Netherlands. The company’s products complements Voff’s existing portfolio of brands with its veterinary-approved raw pet food currently offered across hundreds of veterinary clinics in the Netherlands and Belgium. Following the acquisition, previous co-owners Esmae Minne and Karel Nijholt will hand over operational management of Energique to incoming Managing Director Jan Fokko Nijdam during the year.

Voff, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, was founded in 2014 and is owned by the private equity firm Axcel. The group, which recently acquired UK raw food brand Nutriment, markets 10 brands across Europe including raw food, air-dried treats, supplements, chews and bird food.
