The Russian pet supplies market is young and offers excellent growth potential, according to the organisers of Italian trade show Zoomark, who are also running a show in Moscow.
Between 2017 and 2018, the pet food sector grew by 6% by value and recorded sales of €2.66 billion, Promofiere says. The pet food market penetration is still quite low, however – less than 30% for cats and less than 20% for dogs – so offers high development margins in the near future.
Also offering potential is the market for pet hygiene, care and comfort supplies, which is ‘far from maturity’.
ParkZoo, from September 18-20, will attract buyers from the whole of Russia as well as neighbouring countries.
