The five finalists for this year’s Kennel Club Friends for Life award have been revealed.
They include hearing dog Jovi, a cocker spaniel that helped a teacher and rugby coach recover from anxiety and depression after feeling isolated following hearing loss, and hospital therapy dog Leo, a golden retriever that is part of a human-canine team that has helped 10,000 critically ill children and their families.
Ambassador James Middleton said: “Friends for Life is an opportunity to celebrate these dogs that quietly go about changing people’s lives in their own unique and special way. We would encourage people to vote for their favourite to show their support for these extraordinary dogs.”

The winner will be named in the Resorts World Arena at the NEC, Birmingham on the final day of Crufts and will receive £5,000 from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust for a chosen dog charity, while the runners-up will each receive £1,000.
