Pets at Home has relaunched its pet care centre in New Malden, South West London, as a new flagship store.

The £2.2m refurbishment is the single largest investment in Pets at Home’s estate history. The enlarged 27,360sq ft branch features a new look and feel, more till points than any other Pets at Home store, an array of digital screens and a dedicated Nutrition Hub with an increased range of fresh, frozen and raw food options, a pick-and-mix natural treat bar, and a designated consultation area.

More space has been dedicated to cat than previously, and the revamped store also features an expanded Health Centre, including licensed medications and pet weighing scales, and the largest live Pet Zone in the retailer’s estate, combining small animals, aquatics, and reptiles in an interactive space together with a children’s workshop to encourage responsible pet ownership.

The branch also incorporates a pet adoption centre and pet food bank, run in partnership with Blue Cross, plus a new community zone featuring a designated recycling and charity donation area plus a ‘Paws Point’ waiting area that can also be used for workshops.

Additionally, the Pets Grooming Salon has expanded by 50% and now features six grooming tables and three baths, along with a new check-in area, known as the ‘Check Point’ to allow groomers to give pets an examination before starting.

The newly refurbished vet practice has almost doubled in size and now features six air-conditioned consultation rooms, a second operating theatre, an upgraded imaging suite and a new, separate dental suite.

The new store was officially opened on Friday November 29, with a range of games, activities and giveaways.

Store manager Bart Kemal said: “We’re incredibly excited to unveil the transformed Pet Care Centre right here in New Malden.

“This isn’t just a store – it’s a haven for pet lovers and their furry friends. With a fresh look and feel, an enhanced range of top-tier services, and a shopping experience like no other, we’ve created a space that truly celebrates the joy of pet ownership.

“What makes this transformation even more special is our incredible team, some of whom have been part of this journey for over 20 years! We can’t wait to welcome customers to explore, connect, and see how we’re raising the bar for pet care.”
