Jollyes is to make substantial gifts of food and cash to a number of pet charities following donations from customers.
During the year, shoppers at the chain have purchased 424,000 tins extra tins of Lifestage cat and dog food, which will be donated to over 150 community charities such as food banks and rescue homes identified by each of its stores. In addition, the profit accrued from the sale of those tins will be allocated to five charities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The institutions receiving £8,000 each are Northern Ireland-based Play for Strays, which brings positive enrichment, food, and fun to rescue animals and pets of the homeless community; Miracle’s Mission, a non-profit animal welfare organisation in Cumbria that works with sick, injured and disabled animals worldwide; Friends of Animals Wales, a small independent charity that helps animals in need, mainly dogs, cats that are unwanted or vulnerable and finds them loving forever homes; South Yorkshire-based Food Aware CIC, which repurposes surplus food to environmentally friendly means of reuse; and Furry Tails Feline Welfare, a cat welfare charity in Lancashire providing a temporary home and veterinary treatment to stray, unwanted and ill-treated cats.
Jollyes Pets chief executive officer designate Adam Dury said: “As I’ve travelled the country to open our new stores and met some of these amazing organisations, I’ve been blown away by the work they do to support animals and pets in their communities.
“We know the generosity of our customers in donating tins, and the additional donations we’ve been able to make from their sale, will make a massive difference right across the country this Christmas and beyond.
“I’d like to thank our customers for generosity in making such a massive difference to amazing community groups who support pets and animals who need a helping hand.”
Jollyes officially opened its new store at Princess Way Retail Park, Burnley on Saturday December 13, the company’s sixth new store opening in a six-week period. The retailer will open its next new store at Cherry Tree Retail Park, Blackpool, on Saturday January 24, 2026.
