Two new pet products are put to the test by celebrities and consumers on TV over the next week.

The first, a dog towel from Henry Wag is to feature on the new BBC One show, ‘The Customer is Always Right’.

The show is billed as ‘Britain’s best entrepreneurs putting their precious products to the customer test’, with customers unboxing, testing and scoring to find the day’s winner.

Grantley Rogers, creator of the Henry Wag brand, will take a leading role in the TV show, which sees three products being tested and evaluated by a cast of five celebrity and everyday customers from across the UK.

Gloucestershire-based Grant will feature in episode 10 of the show, which airs at 11am on Friday (May 3).

Grant created The Henry Wag Noodle Dog Towel to overcome the wet and dirt that is a feature of rural dog ownership. The absorbent microfibre towel features gloved ends for greater control of the dog and the towel. During the TV show, the product was tested for use on dogs and humans, in a range of real-life scenarios and judged for price, innovation, design and usability.

TESTERS

Viewers will have to wait until the show airs to find out how the towel scored with the panel of testers.

During the making of the show the TV film crew visited Grant at his home in the Wye Valley to understand the story behind the creation of the product.

“Living in the country presents its own challenges for dog owners,” he said. “Dirt and water are a fact of life and can be a barrier to regular exercise. I set out to create a range of products to remove these barriers so enabling regular exercise for dogs and owners and the building of closer relationships.”

The Henry Wag Noodle Glove Towel retails for £17.99 and is available through selected pet stores, garden centres, country stores and online retailers.

Then on Monday morning (May 6), the Car Seat Carpet from Pet Rebellion features on ‘The Customer is Always Right’, to be shown on BBC One at 10.45am.

In Monday’s episode, viewers meet three competitors, including Tommy Weedon, Pet Rebellion’s sales director, who told pbwnews the testers ‘loved’ his product.

It is designed to keep cars clean from muddy pets. The carpet attaches to car seat interiors, absorbs odours and water and is machine washable.

Tommy said: “We filmed here at our HQ in Pewsey and I then flew up to Glasgow to film in the studios. It’s a great new series with a ‘Gogglebox’/’Dragons Den’ theme on innovative products.”

At the end of each episode, presenter Lucy Alexander presents the winner with the Customer Is Always Right trophy. So, will the pet businesses win their heats?
