British pet safety firm Dog-G8 has been awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.
Founded by Peter and Chris Maxted in 2019, the company has grown into an international brand, selling more than 35,000 gates worldwide and expanding across the US, Canada and Europe. The business has also recei ved backing from TV’s Dragons’ Den.
Dog-G8 is a modular and retractable British-made steel gate and is designed to work across a wide range of home layouts, including wider openings where traditional gates are often unsuitable.
Co-founder Chris Maxted said: “We wanted to solve the ‘front door dash’ that leads to thousands of lost pets and delivery-related incidents every year. To have this solution recognised with a King’s Award is a testament to the fact that simple, practical British engineering can solve global problems.”
