Unipet is getting ready to start its first manufacturing run of non-beef suet pellets using insect ingredients.
The Kent-based company uses thousands of tonnes of liquid beef fat every year to produce suet for wild bird feeding, and is now looking for the first time to start manufacturing non-beef suet pellets in addition to the regular pellet. Production will start as soon as it receives a delivery of insect fat from its strategic partner, Dutch firm Protix.
Managing Director Andrew Ball said: “It’s great that we have an eager customer base waiting for the new Eco suet pellets.”
Unipet will be exhibiting the new eco suet pellets at Interzoo Nuremberg on May 24-27.
