Hagen is celebrating its 40th year of trading in the UK this month, and staff marked the occasion with a 1980s-themed lunch at its Yorkshire office.

Many of the team donned 1980s fancy dress to ensure a fun atmosphere at the event. Hagen UK’s managing director Adrian Burgess said: “It was fantastic to see so many of our staff getting in the spirit and a great time was had by all!

“The Hagen company, despite being a global pet brand powerhouse, is still family-owned and family-run and we see our staff as very much part of the extended Hagen family. Many of our staff have been with us since the 80’s and 90’s and we like to extend the family feeling to everything we do, from staff gatherings to the relationships with our amazing customers. Here’s to another 40 successful years!”

Hagen was founded in Montreal, Canada, in 1955 by German immigrant Rolf C. Hagen and quickly became a household name in the pet industry, expanding its operations to the US, Germany and the UK, along with several other global markets. Hagen UK was founded in October 1982 in Kirkstall, Leeds, but quickly outgrew its office and warehousing space, moving to its current headquarters in Castleford, West Yorkshire in 1988.
