Skinner’s, which is known for its working dog food, is launching a new range aimed at appealing to a wider consumer market.

Called Get Out & Go! the new range has been specially formulated for active dogs, as many more owners and dogs become more active after lockdown.

Get Out & Go! is made in the UK and includes new product development across dry food, wet food and innovative bars and treats, covering all canine needs.

The range uses 100 % recyclable, plastic-free and compostable packaging across the range.
The consumer-facing dog food brand will run alongside its working dog food brand Field & Trial, which recently underwent a sustainable brand refresh and NPD roll out.

SUPPORT ACTIVE DOGS

The Get Out & Go! range comprises of wet foods, training treats, dry foods and innovative protein and recovery bars to complement the diet of active dogs, giving a boost or aiding recovery as needed. Each product in the range has been formulated to support and aid nutrition in dogs who are more active.

Celebrating its 50th year of feeding working dogs, Skinner’s has combined its genuine love of dogs with its reputation for unrivalled expertise in canine nutrition to create Get Out & Go! Bringing high quality and high-performance diets to every dog, from puppyhood to senior years.

The family-owned company, which stretches back seven generations, has specifically developed the brand to meet the dietary needs of active dogs, from those that go on woodland walks with their owners, to long runs and intrepid trials. The diets use superfoods and100% natural ingredients, with 95% of this sourced in the UK, using grains from local fields. From muscle and joint health to skin and coat condition and boosting immunity and promoting stamina and recovery, there is a food in the range that is right for every active dog.

TETRA PACKAGING

Skinner’s is proud to have an onsite Tetra manufacturing plant and is the only UK dog food brand to have this capability. The new range is made from Tetra Recart, which is widely recyclable, with the carbon emissions from each pack 81% lower than glass or cans. To further help meet sustainable needs, at least 67% of carton material used in Get Out & Go!, comes from sustainability managed trees.

Designed by sustainable packaging company BigFish, the packaging features vibrant illustrations as an easy way for consumers to identify which product is most suited to the dog and its lifestyle.

Tim Hansell, Skinner’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to launch Get Out & Go! With 50 years’ experience feeding the UK’s working dogs, we knew we were in perfect position to create a brand that would meet the needs of all dogs across the UK.

“Working with our team of nutritionists, the new range was set out to inspire and be purpose-led, reconnecting people with the great outdoors. The Get Out and Go! name lends itself as a daily reminder to ‘get outside’.  Get Out & Go! lets the consumer and their canine companion enjoy many adventures together, whilst ensuring that the dog stays at optimum health and weight.

“All foods in the range are formulated to a grain-free recipe and have a base of chicken and sweet potato, meaning you can change to a different food when necessary, by moving up and down the protein and fat levels in our range depending on your dog’s changing activity levels.”
