Birmingham Dogs Home is hosting its first ever Mini Country Music Festival tomorrow (August 22) to raise funds for its ongoing support abandoned dogs in the West Midlands.

The Mini Country Music Festival, which is being held at Birmingham Dogs Home’s centre in Solihull, will feature country music artists including Kassidy Kiernan, Two Ways Home, Buckle ‘N’ Boots plus radio DJ Harry Colley from Country Roads Radio on Cheshire Mix 56.

As well as live music, guests can try their hand at line dancing and attempt to stay on a bucking bronco. Shopping stalls will offer a selection of treats and gifts, alongside food stalls and a licensed bar. For children, there will be activities including cowboy crafts and face painting.

It costs the charity roughly £6,000 a day to keep the doors open to both of its centres in Solihull and Wolverhampton, with over 2,000 dogs rescued each year.

Rachel Frost, events and community fundraising manager at Birmingham Dogs Home, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be hosting our first ever Country Music Festival at Birmingham Dogs Home this year. Country and Western music is more popular than ever and, with so many fans here in the West Midlands, it will be a great opportunity to raise funds to ensure thousands of dogs across the region receive the care and support they need.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our supporters, volunteers, stallholders and local businesses who help us make events like this possible, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for what promises to be a fantastic day.”

Tickets cost £25 per adult and £10 per child and are available in advance only. Sadly, no dogs are allowed at the event.
