Danish company Globe Buddy has launched two new dog treat products combining insect-based protein with targeted functional positioning.
Luxx Easy and Luxx Energy expand Globe Buddy’s existing portfolio of insect-based dog food and treats using protein derived from black soldier fly larvae, which is suitable for for dogs with sensitivities, while offering a lower environmental footprint compared to traditional livestock-based ingredients.
Luxx Easy is positioned as a calming support treat, containing L-tryptophan and botanical ingredients such as chamomile and valerian root, while Luxx Energy targets active dogs, with L-carnitine, electrolytes and minerals supporting energy metabolism and recovery. Both semi-moist treats are grain-free and supplied in resealable pouches.
Globe Buddy co-founder Bjarne Gravesen Jensen said: “The pet food category is undergoing a fundamental shift. Traditional protein sources will increasingly be challenged, and insect protein offers a scalable way to meet both performance and sustainability demands.”
The treats will be available to view at next month’s Interzoo exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany.
