The husband-and-wife team behind small animal brand HayPigs! are gearing up for an appearance on national television this weekend.
Rik and Helen Cridland will be joining Jimmy Doherty on ITV’s Jimmy and Shivi’s Farmhouse Breakfast on Saturday morning (June 7) to discuss guinea pig enrichment and wellbeing as they re-install their famous Guinea Pig Village for a new season at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park in Suffolk.
The ITV show, featuring hosts Jimmy Doherty and Shivi Ramoutar, is set at Jimmy’s Suffolk farm and features a mix of food and drink, celebrity guests, craft and animals. This weekend’s show will also feature singer, actress, presenter and animal enthusiast Toyah Willcox, who has recently taken ownership of a pair of house rabbits named Fripp and Eno.
Rik Cridland said: “We filmed this just before Easter and were thrilled that the sun came out for us on the day, it really made all the colours in the village pop! But what was even more rewarding – apart from the opportunity to talk about guinea pigs of course! – was that the resident piggies were so excited for the return of their village! As soon as we put it down, they immediately ran out of their indoor enclosure to explore it – I think we got some wonderful footage for the show!
“Media opportunities like this are a great way for us to raise awareness of the welfare and enrichment needs of guinea pig, so we are extremely grateful to Jimmy and the team for giving us this opportunity! We hope you enjoy the show!”
Jimmy and Shivi’s Farmhouse Breakfast, Series 2, Episode 8, is on ITV on Saturday June 7 at 8.25am. It will also be available to stream on ITVX.
