Jollyes is searching for “Southport’s cutest pet” to celebrate the opening of its new pet store in Southport on Saturday (July 2).
The competition has been launched by Sandgrounder Radio, Stand Up For Southport and the Southport Dog Friendly Facebook Group. Owners posting a picture of their pet – whether it’s a dog, cat, guinea pig, rabbit, parrot, fish or any other pet – on social media and tagging in Jollyes will have the opportunity to win one of five £50 Jollyes vouchers.
The opening event, which takes place at Kew Retail Park in Scarisbrick New Road, will also see the latest appearance of the retailer’s specially-designed “stroke squad” vehicle, where visitors will be able to meet and stroke local friendly dogs including local canine celebrity Dennis the Dachshund.
Further entertainment includes a magician, stilt walker and balloon artist and the chance to win prizes on the “Wheel of Fur-tune”. Local dog-friendly café Barklays will be offering free puppachinos and the first 100 visitors will receive free goody bags.
The 6,000sq ft store will stock dog and cat food, toys and accessories, plus food, treats and accessories for small pets, birds and fish.
