A boutique store selling high-end accessories is to open at Leicestershire’s Belvoir Castle this week.

Belvoir Barkey is opening within the Belvoir Retail Village on April 3. The shop will offer a range of premium collars and leads, designer dog apparel, beds, carriers, toys and gourmet treats from suppliers such as Norfolk Doggy Deli, The Foggy Dog Lambwolf Collective and Ralph & Co.

Open seven days a week, Belvoir Retail Village is a shopping and dining hub sitting at the foot of Belvoir Castle, a popular dog-walking spot.

Amelia Palfreyman, head of retail at Belvoir Castle said: “So many households have dogs that they adore and are truly part of the family, so we wanted to reflect how much people love them through this new shop. People come from far and near to explore the beautiful Leicestershire countryside with their furry friends.

“The idea behind Belvoir Barkery is to create a space where every dog is welcome to enjoy a bit of luxury, whether they’ve just completed a long walk around Belvoir’s outstanding grounds, or popped down with their owners for a cup of coffee in the Retail Village.”

Emma Manners, Duchess of Rutland and chief executive of Belvoir Castle, added: “We’re so pleased to welcome this dog boutique to the Belvoir Retail Village. Dogs have always been at the heart of our family, so creating a space that celebrates them in a thoughtful, elevated way has been incredibly important. I’d also like to thank my Instagram followers who helped choose the name of the shop and have been so supportive every step of the way.”
