Lancashire “Luxury dog hotel” expands

A&T Trained Dogs has extended its luxury kennel The Heronswood Canine Retreat in Lancaster to become the largest facility of its kind in the UK.

Based in 15 acres of countryside in Lancaster, the A&T compound now includes 100 kennels, allowing A&T to offer both residential dog training courses and dog boot camps, as well as dog boarding.

The residential facility is structured differently to traditional kennels, with four-poster beds, classical music, full length aluminium and glass doors, calming lavender scent automatically diffused throughout the day and underfloor heated tiled floors.

The retreat also provides foods that are prepared by a professional chefs, luxury bedding and toys, and pick-up and drop-off services. All kennels are individually climate-controlled with heating and air conditioning and are 40% larger than regulation kennels. Outside are both concrete and grass areas for walks and off-lead play.

Tarik Jayousi, founder and director of A&T Trained Dogs, said: “We are thrilled at the expansion of our luxury dog hotel. The beauty of Heronswood Retreat is that it really is a cut above and pure luxury for your dog.

“Another thing we are proud of and what makes us different, is that we can confidently say that this environment is actually ideal for difficult or nervous dogs too. We know that owners may have concerns about leaving their dogs, especially if they can be a handful but as dog behaviour experts, we are happy to welcome any dog no matter the size or breed, including dogs that have had problems boarding elsewhere.

“We have a kennel block especially suited for the more nervous dog or the oldies that prefer to spend their time sleeping, and a second block dedicated to dogs that are aggressive towards other dogs or people, so you can rest assured that your dog is in the best possible hands.”
