TV programme Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, which goes behind the scenes at welfare charity the Dogs Trust, was named Best Popular Factual Programme at the recent Broadcast Digital Awards.
Fronted by TV personality Pete Wicks, the series premiered in January and became U&W’s highest-rated unscripted debut programme since 2016.
The team at Dogs Trust’s Basildon centre feature prominently in the show and, since it was first screened, the charity experienced a 30% increase in adoption applications, a surge in donations, and a rise in views on the Dogs Trust Basildon rehoming page.
Filming is underway for a second series and a Christmas special.
