Chris Whatling, managing director and co-founder of The Animal People Recruitment Company, has been appointed as an Ambassador for Birmingham Dogs Home (BDH).
Whatling has spent the majority of his career in the recruitment industry specialising in roles that directly support animal welfare. His connection with BDH started during a volunteer day with his team, and this ultimately led to him taking on the role of Ambassador.
He said: “I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to be appointed as an Ambassador for Birmingham Dogs Home. Dogs have shaped every chapter of my life they have been my constant source of comfort, joy, and purpose.
“Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the incredible team at Birmingham Dogs Home, witnessing first-hand the compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication they pour into caring for dogs who have often experienced unthinkable cruelty or neglect.
“I’m committed to using my network, industry relationships, and platform to raise even greater awareness of the vital work Birmingham Dogs Home does every single day. I cannot wait to get even more involved with the charity and play a part in helping more dogs find the lives and futures they truly deserve.”
BDH’s Rachel Frost added: “We are delighted to welcome Chris as an Ambassador for Birmingham Dogs Home. His first real connection with us began through volunteering, and from that moment it was clear just how deeply he understood and valued our work.
“What we love most about Chris is the time he takes to truly get to know our team, to meet the dogs, and to understand the challenges and triumphs that shape our days. He isn’t an Ambassador in name only, he is hands-on, committed and genuinely here to make a difference. Chris wants to be part of our journey in changing the lives of dogs, and the people who care for them, and we are so grateful to have him by our side.”
