Karnlea expands range of broths and supplements

Karnlea has added to its range of bone broths and complimentary products with two new products.

Fish Bone Broth is slow-cooked and made from sustainably caught white fish (cod and haddock) , and is free from hormones, antibiotics and additives. As with other Karnlea bone broths, it is made with naturally filtered water and a little apple cider vinegar.

Fish Bone Broth is beneficial for good digestion and immune system, says the company, and is a good source of collagen, natural glucosamine, chondroitin and the amino acid glycine.

Karnlea’s liquid broth is carton packed from fresh and can be stored in a cupboard until opened. Fish Bone Broth has an RRP of £10.99 for a 500ml carton.

Whole Goat Milk Powder is the most recent addition to the Karnlea Complimentary range, joining Pumpkin and Slippery Elm & Marshmallow Root powders. These products can be added to any Karnlea Bone Broth variety, primary food, or administered separately to address specific health issues in dogs and cats.

Goat’s milk is considered ideal for pets as it has smaller fat globules than cow’s milk, making it easier for them to digest. It provides a nutritional boost, can help settle stomachs and provide extra hydration.

Pumpkin Powder comes in tubs of 100g and 200g (trade only), Slippery Elm & Marshmallow Root, 100g and Whole Goat Milk Powder, 200g. The supplement range has a recommended retail price starting at £12.99.

Karnlea founder Lara McCullough said: “We felt that fish was a welcome addition to our Bone Broth range. Marine collagen is different from that extracted from meat bones – it has smaller particles and can be absorbed quicker. It is a light protein with hypoallergenic qualities, so suitable for dogs and cats with skin and coat issues, and delicate digestive systems.

“Alongside this, we have introduced the Karnlea Complimentary range because we appreciate that many pet owners are trying to address specific health issues that may be age or breed specific. These supplements can be used independently, mixed with our bone broth or added to main meals. Rather than introduce endless variants of bone broth with added supplements, we want to give customers the chance to make an active choice to use the most appropriate ingredient at any given time or for a specific pet.”
