Family-owned British dog and cat food business Bern Pet Foods has introduced ACANA High-Protein Dog Treats to the UK and Irish markets.

Made from just five simple ingredients, ACANA High-Protein treats are a guilt-free way to reward all dogs in any stage of their life, Bern says.

ACANA, owned by award-winning pet food manufacturer Champion Petfoods, has deep-rooted heritage spanning more than a quarter of a century. The brand’s ‘biologically appropriate’ dog and cat foods are made from fresh, regional ingredients created in its own award-winning kitchens.

ACANA High-Protein Dog Treats are available in the US, Canada and now in the UK and Ireland through Bern Pet Foods – the brand’s exclusive importer and distributor. The new dog treats were recently awarded 2021’s Editor’s Choice Winners by Pet Business in the US for their ‘quality ingredients’, including liver.

These premium treats are protein-packed, with 85% of total protein coming from free-run and ranch-raised animal ingredients. Each treat is also grain-free and contains fibre-rich sweet potato, with no artificial preservatives.

They are available in four flavours: Chicken Liver, Beef Liver, Pork Liver and Turkey Liver.

IMPULSE PURCHASE

Bern Pet Foods will be running a consumer awareness campaign of the new treats, aimed at the UK’s impulse purchase pet-owners. The integrated campaign will include PR, advertising and social media channels from September onwards.

Colin Rodger, managing director of Bern Pet Foods, said: “The PFMA recently reported an influx of over three million pets being welcomed into UK households over the past year. With dog ownership and reward-based training on the rise, it’s perhaps no surprise that Euromonitor forecasts a growth of 24% in the UK dog treat market in the next five years.

“We predict the higher demand will also encourage consumers to care about quality and healthy treats for their pets from their stockists. That is why ACANA High Protein Dog Treats are the perfect high-value treat for reward-based training. We’re very excited to exclusively offer this brand-new quality and affordable range of treats to our stockists all over the UK & Ireland.”

ACANA Dog Treats are available in 100g bags at an RRP of £3.49.
