Champion Petfoods has expanded its range of Orijen cat foods in the UK market with the introduction of two new varieties.

Designed specifically for adult cats, Orijen Guardian 8 is so-named as it claims to deliver eight health benefits from its array of fresh and raw ingredients, reducing the need for supplementation.

EPA and DHA from wild caught fish and prebiotics from dried chicory root support immune and digestive systems, while the Omega 3 rich oils from wild caught pollock help maintain a healthy coat and skin, as well as joint health, says the manufacturer. Other ingredients also help maintain muscle, eye and heart health.

The second new line is specifically formulated for kittens. Orijen Kitten has a smaller kibble size and uses ingredients such as chicken, salmon and turkey to provide essential nutrients for sustained muscle development throughout a kitten’s early years, while also supporting brain development and cognitive function.

The first five ingredients of both lines are fresh or raw animal ingredients, such as chicken, raw salmon, raw turkey, raw whole herring and mackerel.

Orijen Guardian 8 is available in 340g packs (SSP £6.49) and 1.8kg bags (£31.99), while Orijen Kitten is available in 340g (£5.99) and 1.8kg (£28.99) packs.

Orijen products are available in the UK from distributor Bern Pet Foods.

Colin Rodger, director at Bern Pet Foods, said: “We’re thrilled to see Guardian 8 and Kitten on the shelves of our stockists all over the UK, bolstering the range of Orijen cat food products.

“Having specialised, quality cat foods for both kittens and adult cats allows us, as well as adoring pet lovers, to protect and encourage each life stage of a cat. We look forward to continuing to bring the best quality foods made by Champion Petfoods enabling them to grow healthy and strong.”
