Animal health specialist Beaphar has launched a new pesticide-free parasite solution for poultry, aviary birds and their environments.
DIMETHIcare Mite Blocker spray can be used on chickens, aviary birds and their housing, and is effective against all life-stages of red mites, lice, fleas, ticks and other parasites. The dimethicone in the spray acts as a ‘sticky trap’, immobilising the parasites and preventing them from feeding, breeding or continuing their lifecycle. The product also contains aloe vera to help nourish the skin and feathers.
Beaphar marketing manager Claire Edmunds said: “With pet shops being a top destination for poultry owners, retailers can play a key role in supporting avian health by providing their customers with advice on health products and biosecurity.
“Adding DIMETHIcare Mite Blocker to their range means they can meet their customers’ evolving preference and need for pesticide-free parasite control for poultry and aviary birds.”
The new line is supplied in a pump action, 500ml spray pack and is suitable for use on poultry and aviary birds from 12 weeks old. To support retailers, Beaphar has developed a range of marketing materials including digital and social content.
