The recent Pet Fair Asia exhibition is reporting record levels of overseas involvement and professional visitors.
Held in Shanghai, China, on August 19-23, the 320,000 sqm show broke new records with more than 2,600 exhibitors and over 130,000 professional visitors. International visitation grew by 23%, with visitors coming from 102 countries, the highest number to date.
While visitor numbers from emerging regions such as Southeast Asia and South America surged, even those from more mature markets, such as the US and Europe, also grew above the overall average.
International brands accounted for 20% of the total in the exhibition, representing 32 countries outside China and including pavilions from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and Poland.
For the first time, the opening day was designated VIP B2B Day, welcoming international visitors and invited domestic professionals, alongside more than 60 Chinese buyer groups organised through partners and industry stakeholders. International participation was further strengthened by 100 handpicked buyers from 22 countries including delegations from Brazil, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Pet Fair Asia will return to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on August 18-22, 2027.
