A blaze that forced the evacuation of 30 animals from a Scottish pet store is being treated as suspicious.
More than 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the St Catherine’s Retail Park, in Perth, the BBC reported.
They were initially called to a fire alarm at Pets at Home in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday, August 26) and discovered a ‘large, well developed fire’ in the B&M store next door.
A post by Vets4Pets Perth on social media, which has a practice within the Pets at Home store, said no animals have been hurt due to having their own individual housing and fans.
The roof of the B&M store next door collapsed as a result of the blaze and the shop remains closed.
Det Insp Jennifer Reid told the BBC: “I would urge anyone who has information to contact us and would like to thank the businesses at St Catherine’s for their support.”
