About us

Pet Business World is the UK’s leading news magazine and website for the pet and aquatics industry

But don’t just take our word for it – the figures speak for themselves! We distribute 7,830 magazines (February 2017) to qualifying pet trade professionals – the biggest circulation in the specialist trade by a considerable margin (20%). This means an advertisement in pbwnews will be seen by more people, in a magazine that is READ and respected by the specialist trade.

Website and social media
Our website (www.petbusinessworld.co.uk) is the busiest in the market, attracting 19.4 million hits in the 12 months to February 2017 and we have more than twice as many Facebook ‘fans’ than any other UK pet trade magazine and considerably more twitter followers, too. We also post regular news updates on Linkedin. Across all media, we keep the trade up to date with what’s happening.

With the help of manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers, we also gave retailers the chance to win valuable stock most months.

Since our first issue in 1951, the industry has relied on pbwnews for accurate coverage of product launches, business start-ups, acquisitions and mergers, market trends, who’s who in the industry, trade shows and conferences, and legal and marketing updates. In-depth features by expert columnists provide trustworthy advice on how to grow sales and profitability. The magazine also features the specialist aquatic trader section. In short, we do everything we can to help our readers run a successful business with, we hope, a bit of entertainment thrown in!

We have a closely-targeted readership and invest continuously in maintaining and updating our mailing list of more than 7,800 petcare professionals, including pet and aquatic shops, garden centres, groomers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and kennels and catteries.

Our in-house team of experienced journalists and designers and on-going research into new and developing areas of business ensure that Pet Business World is well regarded across the industry, giving advertisers the opportunity to promote their products to thousands of prospective customers who read the magazine each and every month and visit our trade-only website every day.

In addition to first-class news coverage, which is updated several times a day, our website features a searchable classified directory of more than 1,100 suppliers and a lively – and sometimes controversial – forum, plus all the latest jobs and stock giveaways and competitions. It also has a searchable on-line database of some 8,100 news stories (growing by the day) and has more than 12,600 registered trade users.

Pet Business World supports many industry events over the year: we sponsor the New Product Showcase at PATS as well as producing the official catalogue on behalf of organisers Impact Exhibtions; we also publish the official catalogue for the AQUA show at Telford; and we are the exclusive media partner for the annual Pet Industry Forum & Awards. We are members of the Pet Industry Federation and ProPets.

In short, pbwnews has been at the heart of the industry for more than 60 years…truly the UK’s leading pet trade publisher.
