Top speakers lined up for pet boarding conference

The Association of Licensed Kennels and Catteries has confirmed the date of its 2017 conference as Sunday, November 26.

The event will be held at the College of Animal Welfare, in Godmanchester, near Huntingdon.

Building on the success of last yea’s conference, ALIKC has lined up a range of keynote speakers to cover a wide range of topics and issues currently affecting the licensed boarding industry.

Presentations and workshops will include ‘Titre testing’ by verteinary epidemiology consultant Dr Vicki Adams; ‘Diversifiation in kennel and cattery services’ led by Sue Hawkins, owner of Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy and Kennels; ‘Understanding the law and your business’ by Stephanie Kleyman; ‘Getting the most out of social media’ with social media and marketing specialist Diana Chrouch; ‘Employment legislation’ by Savio Zuzarte from the Peninsula Business Group; and ‘Gaining Qualifications’ with Lesley Heaton-Smith, director of Vet Skill and The College of Animal Welfare.

ALIKC is a trade body for licensed kennel and cattery owners in the England, Scotland and Wales, which works with representatives from all sectors of the pet care industry to represent, support and advise boarding establishment owners. The association’s priority is to safeguard the future of the licensed boarding sector.
