A retailer is looking to sell off his stock after closing his pet shop of 47 years.

David Allan owned Pets Aquarium & Fishing Tackle, in Prestwick, Scotland, but closed it in October and has now retired.

David had tried to sell the shop as a going concern for about three years, but there were no takers. He said: “The high street is dead. Apart from boutique shops, charity shops, beauty shops and coffee shops, you don’t see anything else.”

Items for sale range from fish tanks in various sizes to cages; aquatics and reptiles accessories; Exo Terra units; pet products and fishing tackle. “Basically, I’ve got a small quantity of everything,” he said.
