Pet bed specialist Scruffs has launched a new series of ‘chew-resistant’ durable pet bedding this summer.

The Manchester-based business says the collection is designed to be resilient to scratching and chewing and features a heavy-duty ballistic fabric to achieve this.

Group sales director Dubby Klyne said: “Our newest collection of bedding combines three fundamental properties: extreme durability, water-resistance and memory foam. It is the first time Scruffs has included these unique features in one of our beds and we have been pleased with the initial reaction from both domestic and international partners. We are confident that the ArmourDillo range will be a success and a solution to the effects of severely-chewed or scratched beds.”

The Scruffs ArmourDillo bed is part of the Memory series of orthopaedic pet beds, which feature a dense foam core with an orthopaedic memory foam topper. This memory foam topper moulds to the shape of the dog’s body to achieve a greater level of comfort and support.

The 1680 Denier ballistic material is backed with a waterproof laminate, which makes it suitable for use outdoors or in kennels. The outer cover includes double-stitched re-enforced seams, further increasing durability. The ballistic cover forms a protective shield around the entire bed, including the base. A hidden Velcro-fastened opening on the underside of the bed enables a quick and easy removal of the bed’s foam core before washing.

The Scruffs ArmourDillo bed is available in two sizes and two colours.
