Royal Canin has made four new appointments at its head office in Castle Cary, Somerset.

The appointments include veterinary marketing executive, two vet national account managers and an e-commerce veterinary key account manager. The latter is a newly-created position, reflecting the growth of the brand’s e-commerce business.

Charlotte Young, veterinary e-commerce key account manager, joins Royal Canin with previous e-commerce experience as field sales manager at The Wrigley Company.

Veterinary marketing manager John O’Connor said: “All four new appointments are testament to the business’ growth. Charlotte joins at an exciting time, as almost half of all veterinary products sold online, therefore expanding our e-commerce team is essential.”

Gemma Sainsbury and James Mills have both been appointed as national account managers, responsible for building relationships with corporate customers. Gemma joins after six years at a superfood and health food importer and distributor, managing national and international accounts. James joins from car giant Ford, where he worked as group manager. Before that, he worked for Nike, Kellogg’s and Oakley.

Veterinary marketing executive Gemma Schofield will be working alongside the veterinary marketing team. She will manage and implement campaigns to deliver Royal Canin’s global strategic sales and marketing objectives. Her experience as senior marketing adviser at the National Farmers’ Union has seen her combine her passion for animals with a passion for marketing and she is looking forward to a new challenge in the veterinary sector.

John said: “We are delighted to welcome all four of our newest colleagues as we enter another exciting year for Royal Canin. They will join our dedicated team, all passionate to continue leading the way in veterinary nutrition and putting science at the heart of everything we do.”
