Prioritising climate change creates opportunities

Making climate change a priority creates new value for companies by putting them ahead of the competition, saving money and helping them attract more loyal customers and employees.

Speaking ahead of World Environment day last week (June 5) , Alessa Berg, founder and CEO of Top Tier Impact, said we must encourage worldwide awareness and action from businesses now to protect our environment for the future.

“We are at the peak of a global climate emergency and time is of the essence,” she said. “The transition towards sustainability and equality is a paradigm shift that is happening across the world, but we must accelerate this, get active and do more to make change happen everywhere.

“For our human species to keep thriving on this planet, we need to implement innovation across all sectors of the global economy. To truly achieve this it must become an intrinsic part of how every organisation operates.
“There are many ways businesses can become more sustainable and they go beyond reducing waste, cutting energy usage and choosing sustainable suppliers and solutions.

“Making climate change a priority creates new value for companies by putting them ahead of the competition, saving money and helping them attract more loyal customers and employees. It’s a win-win for everyone.

“We are still in time to correct the course of humanity towards utopia, not dystopia, but this change must happen now. We can’t change the actions of the past, but we can take action now to protect the future.

Top Tier Impact has recently launched its inaugural Global Impact Awards to recognise start-ups around the world at the cutting edge of sustainability and driving change in their industry to transition to more environmentally friendly practices. As the first of its kind globally, the awards celebrate the most innovative companies leading the way to deliver sustainability for net-zero emissions.
