A scientist was stunned to find a new species of surgeonfish being sold at a fish market in the Philippines.

Jeff Williams, a fish biologist at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, spotted the fish being sold for food. It had a prominent white band under its chin and a vibrant orange head marked by wavy lines of iridescent blue.

The fish has been named Acanthurus albimento, says the report in the Journal of the Ocean Science Foundation.
