A Cheshire store has won the British Equestrian Trade Association’s Retailer Display Competition.

The event is part of BETA’s Safety Week campaign to promote awareness of rider safety.

The retail team from family-run Naylors Equestrian, in Nantwich, worked together to create a series of displays in line with the campaign’s message that safety garments and equipment should be correctly fitted and fastened, and up to standard.

Naylors assistant manager Kirsty Lowndes said: “We focused predominantly on hi-vis, riding hats and body protectors, using products, posters, literature and plenty of BETA Safety Week branding…

“Customers asked us lots of questions, we saw an increase in safety garment fittings and lots of riders popped into the store with their own riding hats and body protectors for checking. We are an incredibly competitive team and we were all thrilled to discover we had won the competition.”

The team received a certificate and a luxury BETA gift hamper.

Also recognised for their displays were Hacketts Saddlery, of Blackpool, and Mole Avon Trading, of Axminster, Devon, which were both highly commended.

BETA Safety Week was launched in 2018 and retailers and manufacturers from the UK and overseas signed up to take part in this year’s campaign, which ran from April 27 to May 5.
