Two pet care businesses have merged, forming a new identity.

Pinfold Pet Grooming, owned by Clare Banton, and Berts Paws and Claws, owned by Emma Nicholson, are merging to form Growlers.

Pinfold has been open in Church Gresley for more than 10 years, while Bert’s Paws and Claws opened two years ago and sold pet accessories and toys, reports the Burton Mail.

The two business owners became close friends, offering to help out in each other’s stores a couple of days a week.

Clare said: “We were running round all day, ever so busy, and we suddenly realised that we could put the two together and make a lot less work for ourselves.”

Newly formed Growlers comprises the dog grooming services from Pinfold Pet Grooming and the shop including leads, collars, treats and pet accessories from Berts Paws and Claws.

A new feature will be a self-use bathroom for public use, where dog owners are welcome to bring their mucky pup and clean them up themselves.

Clare added: “Sometimes people don’t want the mess of cleaning the dog at home, and we thought this was a new unique idea to the area.”
