A search for Britain’s top motorcycling pet is over, with a Glasgow-based bichon-frise-cross taking the title.

Three-year-old Milly rides with her owner, Paul, on an almost daily basis and can be found on Instagram and Facebook as ‘Motorbike Milly’.

The competition attracted entries from more than 50 biking or biker-themed pets and the canine hopefuls received more than 6,000 votes.

The competition was launched by Devitt Insurance Services after a survey by the company to discover the public’s attitude towards motorcyclists.

In addition to generating a platform for dog owners to ‘share the love’, Devitt will be donating £500 to animal charities.

Head of marketing at Devitt Tom Warsop said: “It’s been wonderful to see so many people, not only enter their pets, but also to cast votes for their favourite dog.

“We’d like to congratulate Milly on becoming our first Biking Buddy and are proud to announce a second Biking Buddies competition will take place next year.
