Freshpet expands UK team

US chilled pet food brand Freshpet, one of the fastest growing pet food companies in North America, is strengthening its UK team with the appointment of Hannah Edwards as senior marketing manager.

Hannah will lead Freshpet’s European marketing strategy and support continued business development and growth, following its launch into Tesco.

Freshpet was founded nine years ago in the US with a mission to bring ‘the power of fresh, real food to dogs and cats’. The company says its latest mission is ‘to make a difference to the lives of UK pet owners and their beloved pets’.

Hannah joins from Hoover Candy, where she spent more than two years in a senior marketing role managing the floorcare division’s marketing activities covering all product segments from NPD to lifecycle management.

The position of European senior marketing manager at Freshpet is newly created, reporting into European CEO and founder Cathal Walsh and US vice president of marketing John Speranza. Hannah will oversee UK and European marketing with a brief to deliver creative marketing campaigns that drive awareness and conversion for the already-established US brand.

“I’m looking forward to using my broad marketing experience to develop campaigns that lead the Freshpet team to achieve their ambitious goals,” said Hannah.

Cathal Walsh, founder and CEO of Freshpet, added: “The appointment of a senior level marketer like Hannah is an exciting move for Freshpet as the brand gains momentum in the UK and Hannah will play a pivotal role in bringing a great approach to our customers, brand and communication strategies on this side of the pond.
