EHEIM has brought out a range of energy-saving, environmentally-friendly classicLED freshwater lights, which it says can be used instead of the high-energy T5/T8 tubes. It has also launched a T5/T8 adapter set to facilitate the change.

EHEIM classicLED is available in four lengths of 550, 740, 940 and 1140mm and is easy to install using the extendable mounting bracket.

A spokesman said: “The LED strip adapts perfectly to any aquarium up to a width of 1.4m, giving optimal illumination with a beam angle of 120 degrees, down to the bottom of the aquarium. The ultra compact and very slim design fits under all covers and can therefore be used for most aquariums.”

With a daylight similar colour temperature of 6,500 Kelvin, EHEIM classicLED ‘ensures the healthy growth of fish and plants’. Power consumption ranges from 12 to 20W and feature an average durability of at least 35,000 hours.
