Lorry driver Anthony Anderson was up in County Durham when he heard a meowing from inside his vehicle.

“I’d been tipping the lorry and saw two cats run underneath my cab,” he said. “I saw one run off and assumed they’d both disappeared.
“I drove on to Washington, Tyne and Wear, and heard meowing. I spent my lunch break trying to find him. I don’t know where he was while I was driving but I found him sat on the air filter box which gets very hot.”

RSPCA animal collection officer Rowena Proctor was called and took ‘Lorri’ the kitten to the vets.

She said: “His front leg was injured and had to be amputated, which was paid for by the RSPCA, and he’s with the RSPCA where staff said he’s doing well on three legs.”

Lorri wasn’t wearing a collar and hadn’t been microchipped so the staff are unsure where he was from.
If he isn’t claimed, then Anthony has offered him a home.
